Undeserved Misfortune

Undeserved Misfortune

To make a good movie, there needs to be undeserved misfortune.   Undeserved misfortune is the second essential element to make a movie.  A movie that had undeserved misfortune is a Walk to Remember.  The main character Jamie Sullivan is the character who has undeserved misfortune in the movie.  She is a very religious girl who is a goody goody intelligent girl.  She doesn't have many friends at school, only like 2 or 3 friends in drama class and she is judged by the "cool kids".  She doesn't deserve to be judged and what pushes it over the line is that the "cool kids" print and give out papers with a photo of Jamie and herself inappropriate to her religious beliefs instead of  how she really looks.  In addition, this has also been applied in real life like when some one is being bullied as well just because they're a nerd.  There can be an idea of undeserved misfortune for  movie in this.  One good idea can be when someone is being teased for how smart they are and being bullied or when someone has worked so hard for s test but still fails it.  Thus, the undeserved misfortune is what makes the movie to keep moving and keep the audience hooked to what happened to the person who didn't deserve what happened to him/her.

Conflict

Conflict
One important thing that's needed in a movie is conflict.  Conflict is one of the five essential elements to a good movie and is needed in every single scene.  One good example of a movie that uses conflict as it is needed to be used is The Hangover Part II.   In The Hangover Part II there are multiple conflicts: Stu, Alan, and Phil are lost in Bangkok, they've lost Stu's soon to-be-wife's brother, Stu having a tattoo on his face, etc.  The multiple themes are person vs person, person vs themselves, person vs society, etc.  To add on, an example of conflict in real life is when someone is being bullied by an older kid.  My cousin in Mexico was being teased repeatedly  about her size, the grade she was in, how smart she was, and how she wanted to try to fit in.  They would bully her until she felt isolated and just didn't want to go to school.  This was one f the biggest conflicts my family had to face because we all did what we had to to stop the bullying and to rebuild my cousins confidence.  With many conflicts that i have seen throughout life I think a conflict idea for a movie that I would make would be about someone stealing someone else's confidence.  Plus losing social abilities with the real world and being antisocial in school. Conflict is one of the main things needed in a movie and very important to actually create the whole movie and keeping it interesting.

My Film Job

Every film has a production company that has specific jobs that are needed to complete a good film. There are about 5-7 jobs; the director, producer, screenwriter, casting  director, editor, actors, etc.  The film job that I would like to work would be the editor.  I think editor would be cool and fun.  It would be a good experience to learn more about how to create a movie into its finished product.  Additionally, it would be fun to experiment with your movie like to add music and see which one would fit better, what type of color effect would work with the movie, and able to add special effects that makes it look more realistic of a movie.  Besides just adding music and effects, the editor would be able to experiment with the arrangement of the clips of the movie.  The editor would be a new experience that I believe can be useful later on in life or in school years.  Having the ability to do all this seems like fun and experimenting to make a good movie, but a lot of work.

My Favorite Movie

My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie is West Side Story. West Side Story takes place in the 1960's or 50's and its a musical.  It's about how these two gangs, the Sharks (puerto ricans) and the Jets (Americans),  argue and fight about who belongs.  I love how the setting of the movie is in the past and its even better when its an old time musical.  The types of effects the movie has is very simple and adding the movie's great music composition makes it even better.  West Side Story also has a type of love story.  This love story is about a puerto rican girl and an american boy who fall in love.  The Sharks and Jets both frown upon the love the girl and the boy have for each other because they are different race.  Having two different races fall for each other also shows that different people can be together and it gives that type of moral for the audience.  In addition, the movie has multiple conflicts throughout the movie which keeps the audience hooked on the movie especially its emotional appeal.  Besides just having conflict, the movie also has undeserved misfortune with the puerto rican girl and american.  This movie is just one of the best movies of all time in my opinion and plus it's on Broadway!
